head to toe TAYLOR!

Live performances have always been the most exciting part of liking an artist’s music. The excitement of seeing and hearing them sing live will never get old. Every tour differs depending on the artist, but Taylor Swift is changing the game. After dropping two albums back to back in 2020 and one surprise album in 2022, she announced that her next tour would be called the “Eras Tour.” In her interview on Good Morning America, Swift described it as “a journey through the musical eras of her career.” That means she will perform chosen songs from every album she has ever made, that’s 10 albums! Every night, the show goes on for three hours as she performs 44 songs to a stadium of swifties (Taylor’s fans). It’s not a surprise that everyone wants to experience the magic of Taylor’s Eras tour.

Though the performance is the main excitement of the tour, outside the venue is where you’ll also have the best experience. There are many traditions in the Eras tour, one being even if you don’t get tickets, fans will come to the venue to experience everyone’s excitement. A lot would even stay outside during the show just to have the chance to hear her voice live. But hours before the show, before the doors open, you will see swifties arriving and dressed up as albums, eras, specific lyrics, or anything that references something Taylor Swift had done or said. It’s really a sight to see toddlers to elders dressing up and celebrating a great artist. A YouTuber named Troy went to the Atlanta Eras tour venue without having tickets, just to soak up all the swiftie energy, and he vlogged his experience here!

One particular tradition got viral, and it became something swifties look forward to when they attend the Eras tour. One of her songs, “You’re on Your Own Kid” has the lyrics, “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it, you’ve got no reason to be afraid,” The line about friendship bracelets inspired swifties to make them and trade them with each other at the venue.

They would make hundreds of them, all Taylor Swift-themed. Even if you don’t want to make any bracelets to trade, people give them out all the time. Many swifties make videos of them comparing their wrist before and after a show. They would come without any bracelets and leave with an arm decorated in them. This tradition allows fans to meet each other and interact, even if it is just for a second; it makes the whole experience more worth it than it already is! I can’t wait for the day I get to make and trade friendship bracelets with swifties at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour.
